Brewing with Impact

Our dream and goal is to create opportunities

Being part of the modern workforce is often a demanding task for anyone requiring time, consistency, commitment and strong social and professional skills. For many, these expectations can be challenging to meet, especially when navigating unfamiliar systems, languages, or environments.

Because of this, many socially vulnerable individuals are left outside the workforce, even when they are motivated and willing to contribute. The gap between wanting to work and having access to the right opportunities can be difficult to overcome. At the same time, studies continue to show that stable employment can play a crucial role in helping people rebuild confidence, create structure, and move forward in their lives. That’s where the challenge and the opportunity lies.

At Stepping Stone, we aim to be part of that solution. By creating a supportive and flexible work environment, we strive to help refugees in Denmark take meaningful steps into the job market. Through practical experience, skill development and a sense of belonging, we work to open doors that might otherwise remain closed one step at a time.

Who knows what opportunities may arise from an open-minded and resource-focused approach to each potential employee. At Stepping Stone, we believe that every individual brings unique experiences, skills and perspectives that can create value in unexpected ways when given the right environment to grow.

Employment at Stepping Stone can be exactly that, a stepping stone into the wider workforce, supporting people in building confidence, structure and experience that can be applied in any chosen field. It is a place to develop skills, gain stability and move forward with stronger foundations for the future.

However, should they choose to stay and grow with us, we also envision Stepping Stone as more than just a workplace. We aim to create a true brewery community, where refugees are not only employees, but active contributors to what we build together. A place where personal stories are valued, perspectives are heard and ideas can directly influence the way we work and even the final products we create.

This is what we believe a dignified job should feel like, one that offers both purpose and participation. A space where people are trusted, included and given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully. In doing so, we hope to foster both commitment and fulfillment for everyone involved.

Together with the Danish employment authorities, we have developed a program designed to improve the conditions for refugees who want to enter the Danish workforce. The program is flexible and tailored to the individual, offering a wide range of employment opportunities based on each person’s needs, skills, and current situation. This means that working hours, responsibilities and place are adapted to match their capacity, creating a more supportive and realistic path into employment.

Alongside hands-on job experience at Stepping Stone, participants also have access to additional learning opportunities. These can include language courses in Danish or English, as well as practical support such as obtaining a driver’s license or developing other relevant skills. By combining work and learning, we aim to create a foundation that supports long-term integration and independence.

At Stepping Stone, we don’t just want to offer jobs, we want to help people reconnect with their sense of purpose and motivation. We aim to reignite the passion individuals have for their own fields of work, while adapting those skills to the brewery environment. For example, someone with experience in delivery services might find similar satisfaction in distributing beer to customers, while others may discover new paths within production, events, or customer experience.

Ultimately, our goal is to create meaningful opportunities where people feel valued, capable and inspired to move forward both professionally and personally.
